Heads up play is both the most exciting and the most terrifying time of a tournament. There is only you and your opponent and there is literally nowhere to hide! And as a consequence, this is the time for undiluted and relentless aggression.
The average hand heads up is something like jack 3 so as a general rule you don’t have to have a lot to be ahead anyway.
You will be putting money in the pot with blinds and antes every hand and you simply cannot afford to keep relinquishing this money directly into your opponents stack.
So after taking a couple of weeks off I got back to playing at the 1-2 Short handed limit tables and after doing just ok for the first few thousands hands I’ve been on fire lately and as you can see by my attached graph things are going great.
